July 10 Technology Outages

On Friday, July 10, the majority of Chemeketa's technology resources will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.

Telephone and network services will be available, but Banner, e-mail, eLearn, and all Web services (including My Chemeketa, the public Web site, and Chemeketa Online) will be down between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on that day. This outage will allow Information Technology staff to perform essential maintenance on a variety of systems.

Questions about this outage may be directed to any member of the Information Technology management team.

Database Maintenance Schedule

Information Technology will be performing an upgrade on our Oracle database system the weekend of January 31 and February 1. This upgrade will eliminate an error in financial aid disbursements as well as several other forms and processes. In order to accommodate the workload these systems will be brought down Friday, January 30 at 6 p.m. and will be brought back up by 8 a.m. on Monday, February 2.

Effected systems include: • Banner • my Chemeketa • All other applications using the Oracle system • Foodhandler

Update on eLearn Outage

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!

Due to the inclement weather, college closure and inability for staff members to be on campus, we have to extend the length of time for the eLearn outage. The system will be down for necessary maintenance until the end of the day on Sunday, December 21, 2008. eLearn will be back up on Monday, December 22, 2008.

We have been in regular communication with IT and will continue to provide updates if there are any additional changes to the maintenance plan. You can see these updates on the Chemeketa Online website at www.online.chemeketa.edu under the News & Announcements section.

End of Term Maintenance Outage

Maintenance to the eLearn system: December 15 - 19, 2008 The IT department needs to conduct critical maintenance to the eLearn system during the week following finals. This will result in a three day outage with a two-day contingency plan in the event that something doesn't go well. This maintenance will clean up space in the database and enhance capacity performance and data safety on the system.

We realize this is a lengthy outage and the IT staff will be working hard to get the system back up as quickly and safely as possible.

The maintenance outage will take place starting on December 15 at 3:00 pm and continue through December 19, 2008. The eLearn system will be unavailable to all users during that time.

Students may check grades on My Chemeketa on Wednesday, December 17.

eLearn Weekend Status

The eLearn (WebCT/Blackboard) maintenance will continue through the night and be restored in the morning, 9-6-08.

eLearn Maintenance

The eLearn (WebCT/Blackboard) site will be down for maintenance between the days of September 3 - 5, 2008.

This time is needed so that the IT staff can have enough time to properly do what is necessary to the system.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the maintenance needs to occur so that the system can run optimally.

Scheduled eLearn Interuption

On Friday, July 11, from approximately 7:30 pm until 11:30 pm, the eLearn server will be inaccessible do to a major hardware upgrade being performed by the IT dept.

The upgrade will also affect service for approximately 15 minutes on Saturday, July 12. At this point it is not known when the Saturday interruption will occur, but we are hoping to provide a notice approximately one hour before it happens.

The upgrade will affect access to most other Chemeketa web sites for much of the weekend.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this is a necessary upgrade that needs to take place in order to ensure that the systems perform optimally.

Scheduled Maintenance June 22 and 23

Information Technology will be doing maintenance on some core systems prior to the start of Summer term. They will be working on components that are critical to the safety of the overall network and the data users work with. This outage will impact ALL internet usage both incoming and outgoing for at least 3 hours, possibly longer. The college systems will appear totally offline to the outside world including the public website, My.Chemeketa, WebCT, Foodhandlers, Epathways, Faculty web server, Email delivery, Banner, and more. All web/internet services will be offline.

IT will begin the work at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22. The estimated time for all systems to be back online will be 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23

System Maintenance

IT staff will be performing storage system maintenance on our database servers this Sunday, May 20th, between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm. This maintenance is an offshoot of the system issues that occurred last week and will allow us to address some system limitations and improve future performance. With the upcoming Summer and Fall registration periods, it is important for us to complete this work over this upcoming weekend.

Systems that will be unavailable are: My Chemeketa, Foodhandlers, and Web Admissions. Note: WebCT will be up and available.
