Examines microbe anatomy, metabolism, growth, genetics, taxonomy, selected diseases affecting humans and plants, immunity, and microbial control. Covers food microbiology, industrial microbiology, agricultural microbiology and environmental microbiology with applications to grape growing and winemaking. Uses standard microbiological laboratory techniques.
