Introduction to Juvenile Corrections Introductory perspective of the historical and contemporary aspects of juvenile corrections. Identifies and explores the components of the juvenile justice system and their philosophy, functions, and goals. Special emphasis on the role of law enforcement, the courts, community based corrections, and custodial facilities. Includes an overview of the ongoing debate concerning rehabilitation vs. punishment philosophies in the juvenile justice system, especially as it relates to safety/security issues and public concerns.
