Computer Information Science 1 This first course in a three-course sequence consists of an introduction to terminology and an overview of the historical development of computer and information science. The focus is the basic concepts of computer hardware and software systems, the science of information representation, and the fundamental elements of program design and computer language. Concepts are reinforced in a laboratory environment.
Prerequisite: MTH070, Elementary Algebra; RD115, College Textbook Reading, or equivalent level of skill as demonstrated by satisfactory score on placement test.
